Fox Chase Farm is a working educational farm located in Northeast Philadelphia. It is closed to the public except during public events. Friends of Fox Chase Farm (FFCF), an all volunteer group with over 400 member families, was formed in 1990 to assist the Fairmount Park Commission and the Philadelphia School Board in maintaining and preserving this pastoral treasure. FFCF actively supports the farm by assisting with physical maintenance, fund raising, guided tours, and other public events.

Fresh from the Farm...
"Old Sheep
Barn" November 2007 Update
Excerpted from Newsletter article by Alex Mcgivern
I have started work on the three dormer windows which are deplorable eyesores. The sash in each are greatly in need of repair. One is now well under way aside for some finish painting which can wait for now. The others will be attended to over the winter with painting to be completed next spring.
Now for some really good news. The Friends group has been funding the purchase of building materials. The Friends also funded the hiring of an architect and then a contractor to make extensive and vital masonry repairs to a corner of the structure which for many years has been crumbling. Birds nests were actually found in the cavities during reconstruction.
A locally situated and accessible contractor was chosen and the job was completed within a week. The building is now much more secure and stabilized.
Overall, the intent is to have the "Old Sheep Barn" be the visual asset it should be as opposed to the deteriorating hulk it was becoming. A few peripheral issues have to be addressed to achieve this but that is for the future.
